How To Program A Personal Keyless Entry Code?

Many Ford owners are wondering how to program a Ford keyless entry code. It’s possible to define a five-digit keyless entry code that you can easily remember.

To do this, you must have the original five-digit keyless entry code of your vehicle. These digits can be found on your owner’s wallet card in the glove compartment.

To Create Your Ford Keyless Entry Code:

  1. The First step is to enter the original five-digit keyless code.
  2. Type 1•2 immediately on the keypad.
  3. Now, type in your five-digit within five seconds.
  4. Tap 1•2 immediately to save your personal key 1. Your car doors should lock and unlock which confirms you have programmed your personal keyless code.

To Program Additional Personal Ford Keyless Entry Codes:

  1. Start by entering the Ford Five-digit factory code.
  2. Immediately tap 1•2 on the keypad.
  3. Enter new five personal digits within 5 seconds.
  4. Tap 3•4 to save the new programmed key 2.

With the same step, input other personal keyless codes and use the steps below to save them.

  1. Tap 5•6to save the new programmed key 3.
  1. Tap 7•8 to save the new programmed key 4.
  2. Tap 9•0 to save the new programmed key 5.

Also, it is possible to program a Ford keyless entry code using the SYNC®3 or SYNC® with MyFord Touch® if equipped in your car.

Notes:

  • When programming new keys, don’t use the same digits used for already saved keys.
  • Don’t use a straight-line number like 3333
  • Don’t use numbers such as 3456
  • If you forget your code, you can easily reset it using the keyless factory code.

How To Program Ford Key Fob: Instructions

To program your Ford key fob, follow the step-by-step instructions below:

  1. To start, close your car doors leaving open only the driver’s door. Tap the Unlock key on the driver-side door.
  2. Now set the ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times. Do this continuously for 8 times and let the 8th time stop on RUN.  Your car will now enter programming mode and the door will lock and unlock to confirm it. (Note: should your door fail to cycle, you have to turn the key faster. If your car fails to cycle and lock the doors, your car doesn’t have a keyless entry system.)
  3. Tap any key on the Ford remote to program it. You should do this within 8 minutes. Your door locks will cycle again to indicate that the keyless code has been programmed and you can use it.
  4. If you want to program another key fob, press your select button on the remote for 8 seconds, and the door lock will cycle again. Do this for the number of keys you want to program.
  5. After you have programmed all your keys, turn the ignition OFF. The door locks will cycle again indicating your programming is complete.

How to Turn Off Ford MyKey

If you want to turn off the Ford MyKey, ON the car using your admin key or your programmed key fob. Then follow the steps below to disable your Ford MyKey.

  1. Boot your Ford onboard computer and launch the Menu.
  2. Click on “Settings” and scroll to “MyKey”.
  3. Under “MyKey,” select the “Clear MyKey” option.
  4. Click and hold “OK” until you see the message “All MyKeys Cleared.”
